At 3 years old I swiped a pair of safety scissors from the craft cupboard in the kitchen and sheared our poor kitten right between the ears. It wasn't my best work and she paid me in scratches and bites, but that's definitely where it all began. I carried my interest for all things beauty through my childhood, from Barbie makeovers to leading the hair and makeup department in Drama Club.
My low-maintenance hair philosophy stemmed from my own insecurities. I always felt so much pressure as a young person visiting the salon when they told me, "come back in 6 weeks!" I didn't have time, money, or patience to get my hair done that often... but I still wanted to feel good! When I became a stylist, I thought: there must be more women out there just like me... way too busy to visit the salon on the regular. I opened my studio to create a space where clients could feel empowered about their natural hair, not ashamed.
By enhancing your natural color instead of covering it, learning to work with your hair instead of against it, and stretching out the time between salon visits, I know you'll find more time to do whatever it is you love!
Less time on your hair means more time to do literally anything else.
When I'm not behind the chair...
You can find me at home curled up on the couch watching a new show, dreaming up a DIY project for our house, or muddling herbs together for a yummy cocktail creation. My husband Eric and I have been married for 6 years and just welcomed our little girl, Delaney, in September 2023! Together we love to go hiking, watch movies, go on road trips, and snuggle our kitties, Dexter and Cora!
